Position: Shift Electrician

We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Shift Electrician to perform preventive maintenance and repairs on electrical equipment. The successful candidate will play a crucial technical support role, collaborating closely with operations teams to ensure the continuous, safe, and efficient functioning of equipment. This role demands a high level of technical expertise, strong troubleshooting skills, and a commitment to safety and quality.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform preventative maintenance and repair work on various electrical systems.
  • Act as a technical support lead during shifts, providing guidance and troubleshooting support to operational teams.
  • Ensure smooth interaction and collaboration with Operations to minimize downtime and improve efficiency.
  • Troubleshoot and diagnose electrical issues in complex systems and resolve them promptly to maintain operational flow.
  • Ensure compliance with safety protocols and adhere to industry standards to maintain a safe working environment.
  • Use a variety of electrical instruments and hand/power tools to conduct maintenance and repair work.
  • Assist in the installation, calibration, and testing of new equipment as required.
  • Perform routine inspections and monitor the condition of electrical systems to proactively identify issues.

Requirements:

  • Strong communication skills with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Excellent safety and attendance record; safety is a priority in this role.
  • Training or technical degree in industrial electricity, electrical engineering, or a related field with extensive hands-on experience.
  • Proficiency in working with Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC) and Variable Frequency Drives (VFD).
  • In-depth knowledge of hydraulic and pneumatic control systems.
  • Experience with industrial networking and the integration of electrical systems.
  • Proficient with the use of electrical instruments and hand/power tools to perform repairs and maintenance.

Preferred Experience:

  • Strong mechanical aptitude with the ability to troubleshoot and diagnose complex systems.
  • Deep understanding of electrical principles and electronics.
  • Experience with a wide range of electrical equipment, from basic systems to specialized industrial machinery.
  • Prior experience working with overhead bridge cranes is highly desirable.

Schedule & Compensation:

  • Pay: $90K-$95K, including weekly.
  • Start with a day shift, Monday to Friday (10-hour days), transitioning to a 4 on 4 off rotating day and night shift schedule.
