Senior Litigation Attorney
A full-service law firm is seeking a Senior Litigation Attorney to join its team in Corpus Christi, TX. This is an on-site position offering flexibility in compensation based on the attorney’s ability to generate business.
Role Summary
This position is ideal for a Senior Attorney or Shareholder with an established book of business who can handle both existing and new litigation matters. The role requires leadership in commercial litigation and involves working collaboratively with teams, managing client relationships, and maintaining professionalism in interactions with clients, opposing counsel, and judiciary members.
Key Responsibilities
- Act as lead attorney, managing all aspects of commercial litigation cases.
- Oversee and guide litigation teams in complex legal matters.
- Handle cases from investigation and discovery through trial preparation and final resolution.
- Conduct depositions, hearings, and oral arguments.
- Negotiate settlements and maintain regular communication with clients.
- Represent clients in court hearings, mediations, trials, and arbitrations.
- Conduct legal research and craft appropriate strategies.
- Utilize and analyze video, documentary, and physical evidence effectively.
- Prepare legal documents such as pleadings, contracts, and agreements.
- Respond to discovery requests and take depositions.
- Collaborate with other senior attorneys to develop case strategies.
- Track and accurately report billable hours in a timely manner.
- Draft detailed case summaries and reports.
Qualifications
- Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree and active membership in the Texas State Bar.
- Proven ability to work independently with attention to detail and excellent organizational skills.
- Strong written and oral communication skills.
- Proficiency in legal research and writing.
- First-chair trial or arbitration experience in multiple cases.
