Accounting Specialist
Job Description:
A local law firm is seeking candidates for an accounting specialist position. This is a professional office environment seeking a team player that is ready to learn and excel. This office receives payments from debtors and distribute the funds to creditors. They work with debtors, their attorneys, creditors, creditor attorneys and judges. Their work deals with accuracy in inputting data, analyzing information and documents. This is a full-time position with numerous benefits, including an individual office and exceptional work environment. The successful candidate must be someone who can take direction well, who has a positive attitude, who has the ability and desire to learn and be able to acclimate to changes well.
· Experience in general accounting is necessary.
· Experience in the field of bankruptcy is preferred, but not necessary.
· Legal experience will also be a plus, but not necessary.
Duties include, but are not limited to:
· Reconcile general ledger accounts
· Prepare annual and amended budgets
· Prepare monthly and annual reports
· Prepare and posts journal entries
· Accounts Payable
· Make Deposits
· Void Checks
· Monitor stale dated checks
· Prepare written checks
· Maintain credit card receipts
· Debtor Receipt Posting
· Handle over-disbursed claims
· Research refunds received
· Maintain suspense accounts
· Prepare 1099s
· Audit Preparation
Salary will be commensurate with experience.
