About Us

Family Counseling Service is committed to ensuring that all members of our community can access timely, quality, and linguistically appropriate mental healthcare. We are dedicated to providing a comprehensive approach to increasing access to mental health services in the Coastal Bend by:
• Offering a sliding scale fee to those with no insurance
• Serving Victims of Violent Crime to help restabilize their lives
• Delivering at-home and on-campus services to clients that cannot come to our offices
• Welcoming Medicare and Medicaid clients
• Establishing partnerships with other community organizations
• Creating an intake process that allows for new clients every month. (No waiting list)
• Providing formative training to student counselors
• Supplying essential clinical experience to recent graduates

Increasing access to mental health services in the Coastal Bend means that more of our community can experience improvement in their mental health which often results in improved physical health. This has a positive impact on the ability to maintain employment, as well as success in educational and social settings. At Family Counseling Service our approach to strengthening family relationships creates protective factors for those in traditionally disadvantaged groups.
