Summer Camp Session Five Begins: WHO ART YOU?

How many diff­erent ways can you draw or paint an image of yourself? Inspired by portraits from the Smithsonian’s National Portrait Gallery currently on view in the Museum, we’ll explore, using a variety of mediums such as charcoal, pencil, pastels, acrylic, tempera, and watercolor, the many ways to create art based on your self-portrait – from the realistic to the imaginary. Through movement and music, we’ll demonstrate how emotion and expression can tell a story.
