Lysistrata: A Studio Project

The Department of Theatre and Dance at Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi is proud to host Aristophanes’ outrageous comedy, Lysistrata, on Friday, October 23, and Saturday, October 24, at 7:30 p.m.

The women of Greece have had enough of an endless war and devise a provocative solution: withhold physical intimacy until the fighting stops. Reimagined in a contemporary, sun-soaked world of temptation, flirtation, rivalry, and very public romantic games, this Studio Project turns an ancient battle of the sexes into a hilarious clash of desire, politics, and power, exploring how far people will go to force change when those in charge refuse to listen. The play will take place in the Wilson Theatre in the Center for the Arts. Don’t forget to join us after Friday night’s performance for Friday Night Freebies, an improv show. Ticket prices are $16.50 for general admission, and $14.50 for students, seniors, and military. Tickets be purchased at tamucc.tix.com.
