An energy-efficient fire station equipped with a hazardous material and rescue team is on the horizon. The new fire station No. 5, made possible by Bond 2008, is scheduled to be completed by June 2014.
Mayor Nelda Martinez, members of the City Council and Corpus Christi Independent School District board members will take part in a ground breaking ceremony for Fire Station No. 5 at 9 a.m. Friday, January 17 at 3105 Leopard Street, next to Miller High School. Under a partnership between the city and CCISD, the fire station will have a separate joint-use classroom that Miller High School fire science and other CCISD students can use. Details about the project, including project scope and construction schedule will be available.
