Certified Medical Assistant
Looking for an experienced Certified Medical Assistant to add to our busy practice. They are responsible for providing basic clinical care with his or her medical education to patients and performing initial clinical evaluations for the doctor.
Job Duties:
- Verifies patient information by interviewing patients; recording medical history in the EMR system; confirming purpose of visit
- Prepares patients for examination by performing preliminary physical tests; taking blood pressure, weight, and temperature; reporting patient history summary
- Take the history of the patient and/or chief complaint
- Secures patient information and maintains patient confidence by completing and safeguarding medical records, keeping patient information confidential
- Counsels patients by transmitting physician's orders and questions about their visits and surgery
- Keeps supplies ready by doing a regular inventory of stock; placing orders; verifying receipt
- Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading professional publications
- Answering messages and tasks in a timely manner; refilling prescriptions when ordered by physicians.
- Answering phone calls, returning calls, and answering messages
- Perform other duties as assigned
Skills/Qualifications:
- MA Certification
- Excellent verbal communication skills including pleasant bedside manner, customer focus & professionalism
- Knowledge of procedures, creating a safe and effective environment
- Strong organization skills
- Knowledge of HIPAA guidelines and strict adherence to confidentiality
- Ability to effectively work as a team
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $15.00 - $17.00 per hour
