íFestival de Mariachi! En la Isla

To showcase and celebrate mariachi music in the Lone Star State, Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi will host its first mariachi festival, ¡Festival de Mariachi! en la Isla, in a virtual format (YouTube) on Saturday, May 1, from 5:30-7 p.m. The festival will include prerecorded performances from many award-winning middle school & high school mariachi ensembles, as well as several accomplished local and regional mariachi ensembles. The University’s own Mariachi de la Isla ?will also be performing. The lineup includes professional ensembles, such as Mariachi Clasico (Austin), Mariachi Nuevo Royal (Alice), and Mariachi Mariposas (Sharyland), as well as K-12 ensembles, such as Mariachi Juvenil Guerreros of Tuloso-Midway Middle School, Mariachi Los Guerreros  of Tuloso-Midway High School, Mariachi Los Lobos of La Joya High School, Mariachi Nuevo Santander of Roma High School, Mariachi Juvenil Azteca of Edcouch-Elsa High School, and Mariachi Oro of McAllen High School.
