Ribbon Cutting for Ronald McDonald House of Corpus Christi at Bay Area Hospital
Ronald McDonald House Charities of Corpus Christi provides a home-away-from-home for families who must travel to fulfill their children’s healthcare needs. The charity celebrates nearly 30 years in our community. All funds raised stay locally within the chapter to support the mission of the House.
The Happy Wheels Hospitality Cart allows Ronald McDonald House to expand our services outside the House into our community by providing comfort and refreshment to families and patients at Bay Area Hospital.
Ronald McDonald House Charities of Corpus Christi provides families with more than just a room; they find comfort and hope through the support of other families undergoing similar situations. We are able to keep families close to each other and the care they need, when they need it most by providing a home-like environment, a warm meal at the end of a long stressful day, and a place where they can recharge to prepare for the next battle they face. This allows the family to focus on their child and provide them the support they need to heal.
Our newest program, the Happy Wheels Hospitality Cart, is made possible by the generous support of a
H-E-B Tournament of Champions grant. Partnering with Corpus Christi Medical Center’s Bay Area Hospital volunteers will push the cart through the halls and waiting areas throughout the hospital providing refreshments, and even child friendly activities.
We will have representatives from Bay Area Hospital and HCA Healthcare System along with CEO and representatives from RMH.
