Ribbon Cutting for HANSON PROFESSIONAL SERVICES INC

A national, employee-owned consulting firm, Hanson Professional Services Inc provides engineering, planning and allied services to public- and private-sector clients throughout the U.S. and abroad. Established in 1954, Hanson provides services in six key markets: aviation, government, industry, infrastructure, power, and railway. Hanson consistently ranks as a Top 500 design firm in Engineering News-Record’s listing of premier U.S. design firms and has received numerous workplace and project-related awards.

Our roots were planted in 1949 when James S. Naismith relocated to the City to oversee the original construction of the bayfront seawall. His vision flourished and the employee-owners at Hanson have been serving this community since.  Today we celebrate the success of Hanson Professional Services and its local leadership by officially cutting the ribbon on our completely renovated expansion. From our original Gollihar building purchase in 1992 to the addition of the second building in 2013, we have continued to maintain our growth.  Our second building was completely renovated in 2021/2022 in response to our local success allowing continued expansion.  That’s over 30 years in one location, contributing to the redevelopment of this neighborhood. This $1.5 million renovation project is part of Hanson’s long-term commitment and investment in the Coastal Bend area.  We started local and we’re staying local. We’re here for the long-haul!

Hanson has a legacy of vision and innovation. James P. Naismith, who opened the doors in Corpus Christi in 1949, is recognized as the son of the inventor of the game of basketball, Dr. James Naismith. Walter E. Hanson who started the Hanson firm in 1954, is well respected in the engineering arena as an expert in foundation design. He co-authored “Foundation Engineering” which continues to be utilized by education facilities throughout the world. The two companies merged in 2016 as part of Hanson Professional Services Inc. Our local team of over 50 employees, combined with nationally recognized expertise provides the highest quality and most innovative engineering services possible.
