Ribbon Cutting for Agape Ranch/Agape Harbor

Agape Ranch is a non-profit organization dedicated to supporting the foster children and foster families in the Coastal Bend through programs, such as respite care training, the Christmas Store, foster parent night out, and Agape Connection. Agape Ranch is also an implementing partner of the Care Portal, an online platform that allows child welfare professionals to share with the surrounding church community, real needs in real-time that provides community resources to support children and families in crisis. Agape Harbor is a new adoption and foster child placing agency that provides quality training for foster parents, mentors, and staff to ensure they are well equipped and able to respond to the needs of children and youth in their care.

Susan Klaus, Founder and Executive Director, started Agape Ranch in 2014. Agape Ranch has been serving vulnerable children and foster families in the Coastal Bend since 2016 through programs and events. Agape Ranch hosts two large fundraisers – a 5K in March and a Gala in September. Currently, Agape Ranch is fundraising for the next two homes in The Ranch neighborhood, a 24-home planned community for foster children, foster families, and aging out foster young adults. It is a place where foster children can live in unity and keep sibling groups together. The neighborhood is located off CR 33 and FM 43, near the London ISD property. Agape Harbor was created to support families wanting to adopt and become foster parents.

 

Open House begins at 4 PM. Opportunity for community members and supporters to tour the new office space and learn more about Agape Harbor. Agape Harbor staff will be available to answer questions for prospective Foster and Adoptive Families. We will be selling tickets to the Lions Club BBQ fundraiser on April 10 and promoting April’s National Child Abuse Prevention Month by selling “Pinwheels for Prevention”.
