DESCRIPTION:Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi will host a series of free public science presentations on select Thursdays\, from Jan. 22\, through Apr. 30\, from 6-7:30 p.m. at the Owen R. Hopkins Library\, 3202 McKinzie Rd. The series will feature research projects from faculty and students with the TAMU-CC College of Science and is sponsored by TAMU-CC College of Science. Representatives from various City of Corpus Christi departments will be at select presentations.\n\n \nTopics include:\n\n \n\n  Jan. 22: "Understanding life one cell at a time" by Seemann Lab\n\n  Feb. 5: "Concise geological history of the Gulf: 250 million years in 30 minutes" by Randy Bissel\n\n  Feb. 19: "The tale of the flounder and the freshwater" by Walther Lab\n\n  March 5: "Water quality and Human health on the Gulf Coast in South Texas" by Pavel Lab\n\n  March 19: "Sharing the shallows: Shark and Ray habitat use in South Texas" by Coffey Lab\n\n  April 2: "Wetland research in the Gambia" by Dr. Battaglia and the Center for Coastal Studies\n\n  April 16: "Secrets beneath the Ice: Exploring Antarctica's Ross Sea" by Dr. Hao Yu\n\n  April 30: "From winter chill to summer bloom: Microbial life in our coastal waters" by Lin Lab\n\n\n\nThe series is designed for teens and adults.
