SUMMARY:Moonlight in the Gardens
DESCRIPTION:Expecting more than 600 guests\, the South Texas Botanical Gardens & Nature Center has announced additional entertainment features for its seventh annual signature fundraiser Moonlight in the Gardens\, beginning at 5:30 p.m.\, Friday\, October 25\, on Botanical Gardens grounds under tents.  \n\n \n\nThe star-studded evening starts at Stellar Spirits wine and beer open bars.   Guests will enjoy an array of appetizers\, conversation at Jupiter's Jazz Bar\, and initial trip though the Starlight Silent Auction with new Grand Galaxy featuring high-end items\, some male-targeted deals and blackboard auction.  An incredible list of auction choices are topped by an Estes Park February condo stay\, handmade 'Aggie' quilt\, South Padre Island Schlitterbahn two-night stay and four passes\, Ascuba Venture swim and diving lesson package\, parrot with cage and Companion Bird Club membership\, season tickets for Corpus Christi Symphony and Harbor Playhouse\, handsome mesquite bench\, fishing trip\, duck hunt\, original paintings\, and Houston Symphony and Natural Science Museum package.\n\n \n\nEntertainment continues in the Butterfly House with the Heavenly Butterfly Release\, and Lunar Illuminations including the magnificent new Rose Pavilion chandelier\, complemented by rose bed candelabra\;  lighted wire sculptures in the Anderson Bromeliad Conservatory\;  uplighting in the Plumeria Garden\; and large ornamental flamingos guiding guests through the Orchid House. \n\n \n\nMercury's Main Tent features dining tables with white china on navy and turquoise table cloths with orchid centerpieces\, and Man in the Moon table locators.   Both sizzling steak dinners and scrumptious\, rather flamboyant desserts will be prepared on site\, followed by decades of Nep-Tunes for listening and dancing with popular local band Flashback.  Charles Doraine will emcee the brief program.\n\n \n\nProper attire ranges from faded denim to jewels and sequins \n\nbut leave stilettos at home!  Valet parking will be available.
