DESCRIPTION:Join the United Corpus Christi Chamber of Commerce for the International Business Council meeting\, presented by BBVA Compass.  Participating in the International Business Council is a great opportunity for members who are interested in stepping in to the international arena\, wish to expand their global reach\, and/or receive information on international policy updates.  \n\n\n\nThe July 31 meeting will feature an International Business Roundtable with Ambassador Reyna Torres Mendivil\, Consul General of Mexico in San Antonio.\n\n \n\nAmbassador Reyna Torres Mendivil took office as Consul General of Mexico in San Antonio\, on April 16\, 2017 appointed last February by President Enrique Pe a Nieto. She is a member of the Mexican Foreign Service since 1991\, and attained the rank of Ambassador in 2014.\n\n\n\nAmbassador Torres Mendivil announced that one of her priorities is to empower the Mexican community\, promote and strengthen the image of Mexico\, foster the bilateral economic agenda in order to identify and create more opportunities of trade and investment to benefit all Mexicans.\n\nBefore assuming her current appointment\, Ambassador Torres Mendivil was General Director for Protection of Mexicans Abroad\, Consul of Mexico in Fresno\, California\, and General Director for Latin America.\n\n\n\nShe has held various positions within the Secretariat of Foreign Relations including Deputy General Director for International Policy on Human Rights and Deputy Chief of Staff to the Secretary of Foreign Relations. She was appointed Deputy Chief of Mission at the Mexican Embassy in the Czech Republic in 2001 and also served in the Embassy of Mexico in the United States from 1996 to 2001 as a political analyst and liaison with Congress\, federal authorities\, and NGOs.\n\n\n\nAmbassador Torres Mendivil was a resident Fellow at the Weatherhead Center for International Affairs at Harvard University from 2005 to 2006\; she represented the Secretariat of Foreign Affairs in the Hemispheric Security Course at the Inter-American Defense College.
