Several bands will take the center stage including the Dave Rukkus Band and Marcos Orozco. These exposures have led to horrific medical consequences and early deaths. Among many veteran service organizations and veteran advocates\, these diseases are being referred to as the New Agent Orange. \n\n \n\nIn addition to raising awareness of the issue of military burn pits and the role the issue plays in military suicides\, the event will also promote the State/National Burn Pit Registry. Perhaps most important of all\, the event will create an environment for building camaraderie among Veterans while we celebrate their service. \n\n \n\nBurn Pits 360 was founded by Captain (Ret.) Le Roy Torres\, U.S. Army\, who is also a retired DPS Texas State Trooper and resident of Robstown\, Texas. He suffers from deployment related lung disease\, in addition to many other medical conditions due to toxic burn pit exposure. The organization's mission is to improve the health outcomes and lives of Veterans suffering from war-related exposures. \n\n \n\n-2-\n\n \n\n \n\nEditors: Please find more information about our organization and the event included in this media packet. \n\n \n\nWe would appreciate media coverage beginning immediately\, to include news stories/articles and public service announcements about our local Veterans who are suffering from deployment related illnesses\, as well as the services our organization offers to include a registry for those suffering from symptoms related to burn pit exposure. We are actively pursuing legislative changes at the national and state level and procedural changes within the Department of Veterans Affairs and Department of Defense regarding deployment related airborne hazards and environmental toxic exposure. \n\n \n\nWe would also appreciate media coverage to preview our November event\, as we are still searching for additional community involvement such as vendors\, sponsors\, volunteers\, donations\, and BBQ teams.\n\n \n\nPlease contact Rosie Lopez-Torres\, Executive Director\, at the contact information provided above for more information and to set up interviews.
