Were you aware that much of south Texas depends on the CCPD for the bomb squad? Have you ever wondered how a murder investigation is conducted or how the Gang Unit operates or even how drugs are taken off our our streets?\n\n \n\nThrough the Citizen Police Academy\, nearly every division within the CCPD presents an in depth look at how they work and solve crimes. The information you are exposed to is not typically known by the public. As a student in the CPA you not only get to "see" how various divisions function\, but you get some actual "hands on" experience led by trained professionals. You will also participate in role play scenarios where you make decisions as a police officer would\, which allows you to better understand what they face every day. To top it off\, you will sign up for a 4 hour "Tour of Duty" and ride with an officer to see first hand what happens on the street.\n\n \n\nUpon completion of the Citizen Police Academy you have the oportunity to join the Citizen Police Academy Alumni. As an Alumni you are invited to participate in a variety of CCPD activities including helping train our Cadets.
