DESCRIPTION:In collaboration with the Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi Office of Disability Services\, Islander Cultural Alliance\, and the TAMU-CC Communications Department\, the Performing Arts Center is presenting Act of God\, a short film by Spencer Cook and Parker Smith\, based in Austin. The free showing will be held on Wednesday\, October 12. Door open at 6 p.m. with a reception\, the film begins at 7 p.m.\, and a Q&A with Spencer Cook starts at 7:30 p.m. There will be a dessert reception after the Q&A. Act of God has won numerous film festival awards and is the story of Spencer\, who is disabled and has spent his entire life in a wheelchair\, and his caretaker\, Parker.
